Unit17c are pleased to announce an exciting new collaboration with Giant York Coaching, focused on helping cyclists to achieve their potential and reach their performance goals.
To launch this partnership, we will be providing an opportunity to partake in a group turbo session delivered by Giant York’s in-house Performance Specialist, Tom Ramsay. The event will be a one hour session that will be used to help predict the riders Heart Rate (HR) at Functional Threshold Power (FTP).
FTP represents a rider’s ability to sustain the highest achievable power output over a 45-60 minute period. Having a record of FTP allows the rider and coach to prescribe accurate cycling specific training zones.
As well as ‘on bike’ sessions, Unit 17c’s strength and condition coach – Gary George-Roberts – will also offer programming and guidance for ‘off bike’ sessions. These S&C sessions will be specific to riders to optimise strength, power and endurance in the saddle.
The turbo session will take place at Unit 17C’s training facility on Forest Park, Malton Road. The facility can accommodate up to 20 riders and turbo’s.
Giant York & Unit 17c do have a small number of turbos which will be offered on a first come-first serve basis.
Riders wishing to participate in this event must bring:
• Their own bike
• Turbo trainer
• Heart rate monitor (with chest strap)
